Al Khotanzad holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of intelligent systems and their applications to energy related forecasting problems. Dr. Khotanzad, who is also a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, has been on the forefront of developing and applying cutting edge technology to energy forecasting problems. He was one the pioneers in the use of neural networks for load forecasting and lead the team who developed the first commercial neural network load forecaster under sponsorship of the Electric Power Research Institute. Dr. Khotanzad has over seventy technical publications and has served on the editorial boards of the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence and Journal of Pattern Recognition. He has received several prestigious awards for his innovative works including the following: IEEE Dallas Section Engineer of the Year Award, Sigma Xi Best Research Award, and The IEEE Third Millennium Medal.

Sogand Shoja holds BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. Prior to joining PRT in 2001, she was an Engineering Manager at Honeywell Optoelectronics. Her extensive experience in process development, optimization and years of teaching statistical thinking to analyze and improve products has been key to implementing effective solutions for PRT’s clients. Ms. Shoja has played and continues to play a fundamental role in PRT’s overall marketing and strategic development efforts. She also serves on the board of trustees for Dallas Museum of Art and KERA, a National Public Radio member station serving North Texas.

Saeed Afkhami holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and has been with PRT since 1996. He has over 20 years of experience in research and development of cutting edge forecasting algorithms for the energy industry. As Director of Engineering at PRT, he oversees R&D efforts and technical support activities. He has been a major contributor to the design and development of all of the PRT’s products and web based services.

Laudan Khotanzad holds a Finance and Economics B.A. degree from Southern Methodist University, and has worked as an energy trader for Shell Energy North America in San Diego for four years prior to joining PRT. Her experience as an ex-trader brings a valuable perspective to PRT’s staff as she relates to current and prospective clientele with her knowledge of the energy markets. Ms. Khotanzad is in charge of directing PRT’s sales and product development efforts.
